Experiencing Symptoms of Depression?
Try these tips!
Many people experience symptoms of depression from time to time. When I've been in such a place I've often found it very hard to get out of bed, much less think of effective coping mechanisms.

I made this list so I'd have something to refer to when the black dog comes to visit me again.

Practice Mindfulness by bringing attention to the moment: smell, see, hear, taste, feel what’s real

Go to a museum

Pay attention to my partner

Call a friend and ask how they’re doing

Find a child to listen to

Make a plan for something to look forward to

Find an animal to pet

Give someone a compliment or express gratitude for something they do/have done

Pick a spot in the house to clean up or organize

Do 50 jumping jacks

Stand in the Wonder Woman pose

Smile, or laugh, even if it’s forced

Go for a walk or run

Turn on reminder app to remind me every 30m to relax face, shoulders, stomach
Food

Make/Eat some kimchi

Eat something super spicy for that endorphin rush

Take a vitamin, but say “this is a happy pill, which will make me feel happier”
